The 18 month construction phase of the project has been the culmination of a huge amount of work honing the engineering and design of the plant and procuring the necessary materials. The project is a huge achievement – enabled by a world-class team of experts and local suppliers, including Grayton and RJE.

Looking ahead, now all the capital components of the kiln have been installed, the Singleton Birch plant will move into a commissioning phase over the next 3 quarters. This will allow verification of the installation, and ensure the plant works safely as designed. After that, the plant will be tested to optimise its efficacy – before being set to work to produce zero-carbon lime.

We are thrilled to have helped Origen in their mission to make a positive impact on the planet. This project, combined with other major milestones shows that they are delivering tangible progress – technically, operationally and commercially towards their goal of delivering giga-scale CO2 removal.
